Technical standards
DPP standards are turning the legal framework into an interoperable system.
The Commission reported in July 2026 that six of eight harmonised DPP standards were already available, covering core technical building blocks such as identifiers, data carriers, APIs and storage.

A DPP platform should be judged by how easily data can be exported, resolved, shared and moved — not only by how attractive the QR landing page looks.
