Implementation workflow
DPP compliance is a data-governance workflow, not a QR-code project.
A workable DPP programme connects legal scope, product identifiers, source data, suppliers, access rights, registration and long-term maintenance.
A seven-step DPP workflow
- Confirm scope: identify the product legislation and product-specific measure.
- Define passport level: model, batch or item according to the applicable rule.
- Assign identifiers: keep product, operator and facility identifiers clean and stable.
- Collect data: product, material, compliance, lifecycle and supplier information.
- Set access rights: separate public information from restricted professional or authority data.
- Publish and register: connect the required data carrier and complete Registry steps where applicable.
- Maintain: keep data accurate, complete and current throughout the required period.
Important: there is no single universal DPP checklist for all products. The applicable delegated act or other EU legislation defines final obligations.
Where companies get stuck
Supplier data
Materials and component evidence arrive in inconsistent formats.
Version control
Product data changes but links to compliance evidence are not maintained.
System integration
ERP, PIM, PLM and supplier data do not share stable identifiers.
