ESPR requires a persistent unique product identifier linked through a data carrier. Product-specific rules determine the required model, batch or item level.

Product identifier
Persistent identifier for the relevant model, batch or item.
Operator identifier
Identifies the economic operator where required.
Facility identifier
Identifies relevant production or value-chain locations.
Registry identifier
Supports EU-level registration while passport data remains decentralised.
